The Wayne County Lions Club of Georgia (based in Jesup) is a service organization that does charitable works in our community through service activities and fundraising. The current club was chartered in 1955 as the Jesup Lions Club. In 2007, the name was changed to Wayne County Lions Club to better serve the entire county. Funds that we raise are used to support other Lions related charitable organizations, provide scholarships, assist with community needs, and provide eyeglasses/exams for those who do not have insurance and cannot afford them.
The club is a 501(c)(4) service organization. While donations directly to the club are NOT tax deductible, we certainly welcome any monetary assistance.

In early February, 2025, Lions Chris and Cynthia delivered approximately 4,000 eyeglasses/frames to the Perry Lions Club in Perry, GA, which they will deliver to the Georgia Lighthouse Foundation for recycling. These eyeglasses/frames were collected over the last three or four years. In the picture shown in front of the glass counter are the boxes of all the eyeglasses/frames.
The club held a Diabetes Awareness Information booth at the local Wayne County Farmers Market on August 3, 2024. We held a drawing for $50.00 for participants with the winner shown at left.
We held our annual rib sale October 19, 2024 with over 300 hundred slab of ribs sold. This is one of our major fundraisers and it has been very successful every year. Thanks to everyone who supported our club by purchasing a ticket.
